Requirement Model Properties
« on: June 02, 2006, 01:22:00 pm »
Hi,

I am setting up my project and I had a couple of questions which I was hoping someone would be able to help me out with:

1) If I wanted to change the possible values that i can pick from for any of the following properties of a requirement model, how would i go about doing that:
 a) Priority (Currently limited to High, Medium and Low)
If I wanted to add another priority, how would I do
  this?

2) What does the "Key Words" property that is associated to a Requirement model represent and how would I use that?

Thank you for your help.

As far as I remember, the priority is hard coded and it has been asked to expand this. No idea, what 6.5 will bring in that respect.

The keywords can be used arbitrarily. I have made use of them only in very rare circumstances. You should have a look at tagged values and profiles. You can manage to create your custom requirements with all sorts of tags (change history, responsible, due date, etc.). By writing a few add-ins you can create a powerful instrument to manage your requirements.

He is correct on both counts.   :'(

Keywords are whatever you make of them. I believe they can be used in searches.
No, you can't have it!

please tell me how one would search for these keywords if they were to be used.

You can do this from within EA by using the Search View. Remember that you must have a project open to access this view, and you must have a package or diagram selected to access it from the toolbar. [I mention this because I seem to forget every time, and then wonder how to get there.]

Just look for Search View in the EA HTML help index. That will get you going. You'll probably have to add the Keywords field to the list.
