profile based on SysML Block Definition Diagram
« on: April 14, 2011, 11:43:39 pm »
Hello everybody.
I was wondering if  EA allows profile constructing based on SysML diagrams (block diagram in particular). In other words, can I use Block as a meta-class? I followed usual procedure described in manual but when defining a meta-class there was no Block element in the list of possible meta-classes. So, is it possible at all to use SysML defined as MDG Technology for defining a meta-model?

Best regards.
Denis

I guess that if you need to use SysML and define stereotypes on its meta classes such  as Block, you need to have the proper edition of EA (Ultimate or SysML addon)

'ello

I'm trying to think where I heard this before;  profiles are used to construct extentions to UML... what youre really wanting to do is extend 'the SysML' extention of UML.

Yes Kevin, you're right. Theoretically there should be no problem to do that(profiling mechanism can still be applied), but in practice I see that it's unfeasible in EA. That's a pity.
