Debug and generate sequence of webapp in Remote jetty
« on: March 22, 2017, 02:19:57 am »
Dear All,
Need your help ... Finding very hard to setup Analyzer Debugger in EA12.

I am looking to generate sequence diagram through EA v12 debugging, the java based web application is running in Remote Jetty Server.
Currently I use "ssh -L" to the remote jetty server and debug from Eclipse IDE.

I am not sure how to debug from EA v12. I would appreciate if you could help me with the steps or point to a relevant link.

Thank you

I haven't done it, but I think you'll need to use the JDWP debugger. The standard Java debugger doesn't support remote debugging.

From there, the instructions should be very similar to debugging with Eclipse (which I see questions and answers about when doing a web search)

PS. Please don't paste the same question on every debugging thread you can find here (even on .Net related questions from 2009 as far as I can see). I or someone else is going to need to go through and clean up that mess.

fwiw: When I saw more than a dozen of new questions all from the OP pointing in the same direction (obviously) I simply marked everything as read. And likely I'll not look too close at new questions of him.

That someone else turned out to be me. I thought I'd be helpful and quickly delete the tail-end posts in all those threads, but it turns out if you delete a recent post from an old thread the 'breadcrumb' pops you to the point at which the old thread ended. I have been wandering around the cob-webbed, dank and dusty vaults of threads in 2007 and thereabouts. Very tedious. And there was one thread that might actually have been relevant to the question you asked, but in my weariness I deleted the post in that thread too.

To the world at large - please, no more carpet-bombing!
Best Regards, Roy
