Multiple key types in multiple stores
« on: March 20, 2020, 03:02:11 pm »
I'm now working from home in the current COVID-19 crisis.  Normally, I can connect to our company's shared keystore no problem.  However, this morning, I couldn't.  Still trying to sort out why.  However, that stops me from being able to run EA.

As the admin, that poses a MAJOR problem! :(

I know I can add a non-shared key and use that to open EA.  However, can things be set up so that the non-shared licence is used ONLY if the main store is not available?  Eventually, we want to use the shared keystore to get usage stats, so using the private key will mess up the numbers.

Hi Paolo,

There is no option to have EA automatically revert to a standard license key in the event that a floating license couldn't be obtained.

Sounds like either you have a network issue trying to access the server, or perhaps all keys of the requested type were already in use? What was the exact error that you saw? Check the logs on your license server to see if anything was reported there.

Thaks Aaron,
I would if I could...  I can't even ping the server!  Maybe our friends in "infrastructure" gave us a "helping hand".
