CVS support
« on: October 29, 2002, 10:56:00 am »
I note the following in the 3.50 manual:
Quote
Version control is not natively supported in EA. Future versions are planned to include Microsoft SCC support
for linking to commercial version control systems.

Most development environments I have worked in over the past few years have used CVS for version control.  Any chance that we could see CVS support in EA?

Frank.

in the universe, or in the unconscious responds as if to an invitation.

Wh EA supports SCC you can use one of the SCC to cvs interface to support a cvs repository.

Chek out wincvs.org for links to  Jalindi-Igloo and other scc/cvs tools.
I have managed to get this to work inthe past.
I also highly recommend tortoise cvs http://www.tortoisecvs.org
a windows filemanager addin of rcvs integration.

In the meantime you could use XML export as a document suitable for cvs usage.  The EA database is binary and is not really 'revision control' frinedly.

Cheers,
  Gerrit.
