Create a Communication Message

Hello,

I am using EA v4.1 and trying to create a communication diagram.  I am having trouble creating a message from one object to another.  I tried to use the help file, where it says to create an Association first, and then add the message to it.  However, it seems that I am doing something wrong, or the help file is outdated; when I right-click on the association, there is nothing that shows up in the context menu that would allow me to edit a messsage for that association.  Does anyone know how to do this in EA 4.1?

BTW - I saw the "Message" link in the Interaction Tools bar, but it does not seem to function the same as the messages in the help file.  (for example, there does not seem to be an automatic numbering feature).  Plus, why is there no such tool in the Communication Tools bar.

Check that the diagram type you are using is a communication diagram (look in the titlebar area for the  diagram).  If its anything other than that the message actions do not appear in the context menu.

The message connector in the interaction toolbar is the "old" sequence diagram message.
