Support Repository on Firebird Database
« on: April 04, 2008, 11:17:21 pm »
Hi,

I use Firebird 2.x in all my java projects and I suggest EA supports repositories on Firebird Database.

I created a Firebird script from Oracle Script and got build the database. Then I created an ODBC Datasource pointing to this Firebird database. I can see this Datasource from EA Connection Dialog. After enter user and password the test of connection works fine but when I click on "OK" button  I recive the follow message from EA:

Invalid Data Source...  Check configuration.

I think you should use InterBase as the DBMS. It's in the help file for build 828. [And probably for a few earlier builds too.]

[EDIT: See post from GreyNormand below. The above is only meant to address the ODBC data source issue, not storing EA models in Firebird databases.]

InterBase and Firebird are not supported repositories.
