any plans for an EA version on Mac OS X ?

I'm a great fan of EA for modeling, if I could run it under OS X it would be great ! 8-)

One advantage of Crossover is that you don't have to do anything special if using a MySQL backend - the 'localhost' for the Mac and Crossover are the same.

A disadvantage - possibly due to the older parts of Windows it uses - is that it doesn't copy formatted text across properly if pasting into linked documents. Vmware and Parallels do.

One thing to be aware of is that the .EAP Backend - a JET database engine - doesn't like interruptions and isn't that resilient in the event of a freeze. I've had a few lock-ups caused by the VM - possibly because things are in transition to full 64 bit to match Snow Leopard. Either use MySQL or Time Machine (bear in mind you can lose a lot of work in over an hour - you can tweak the Time Machine backup interval using Terminal).

I run EA in Parallels and it works perfectly.

I have made the same experience with a Leopard/Parallels 4.0 installation and EA - no problems so far.
I think that a full port to Cocoa would be very nice for Mac users (and like me currently a lot of IT professionals go Mac) but it would be too much effort, wouldn't it?
