MySQL ODBC driver
« on: June 04, 2013, 06:58:37 am »
Which is the recommended current version of MySQL ODBC driver to be used to connect to repository in MySQL?

I am aware that it should be 32-bit version.

When downloading the latest from the following link http://dev.mysql.com/downloads/connector/odbc/

it cannot be setup correctly. When adding the driver in ODBC configuration, it shows up as "MySQL ODBC driver 5.2 Unicode" and "MySQL ODBC driver 5.2 ANSI".

What could be the reason for this?

Thanks
KN

Is the 5.2 driver version likely to be supported at some point? I've just stumbled into this bear-trap....

I remember having had quirks with the MySQL driver version in the past. Some people in the group had one driver and others a newer one. The problem was that the needed options had moved in the driver GUI. So it was harder to tell which ones to enable. So be sure to have one tested driver version and make this the official standard (people think to be smart when loading the latest one from the internet).
