Properties of operations (isQuery property)
« on: February 22, 2002, 02:08:34 pm »
Why doesn't EA support isQuery property of opertaions? It does support sequential, guarded and concurrent properties. Any particular reason that isQuery is not supported?

It seems to be a very useful property becuase developers often end up adding side effects in query-only operations. IsQuery is a good check against these bad practices.

Thanks

Hi,

No, IsQuery is not explicitly excluded - in fact the database has that field already added - it is just a matter of updating the Operations dialog to support the field and the XMI import/export. This could be completed over the next week. I will make a note to have it done.

Hi,

Just a follow up note to say that this field has now been added for the next build of EA (467) due out on Monday next. A checkbox has been added to the Operations dialog front page to set this property.
