How do I upgrade registered version?
« on: February 13, 2003, 05:47:41 pm »
Colour me dumb, but could anyone tell me how I upgrade my registered version?

EA's just gone to Build 601, and I'd like to download it and upgrade my build 600, but I can't see where to get hold of anything other than the trial version.

I'm sure it's staring me right in the face...

???

TIA

Andrew,

Off the home page, look down on the left side for something called "Registered Users".  Click on the link there (Enterprise Architect) and you will be prompted for a user name and password.   Once you put those in, a new page will appear with the registered full version of 601 (or any other new release).

Hope that helps...

Thanks Steve,

Of course I'm on site and the registration is back at base...

I'll have to pick the upgrade up later.

All the best

Andrew

P.S. I haven't checked your site recently - how's EA RequisiteControl going?

Andrew,

Well, first, it's called EA-RequirementControl.   Things are coming along.  We're trying to build a universal RTF class to handle things and added the import of the Glossary (or mere reference) for UP documents.  I hope we will release it in March.

Of course EA-TraceControl will be going into beta around that time as well.   I hope we can have the new site up and running soon... having YaBB problems at the moment  :(

Cheers,

Steve

It seems I'm determined to keep forgetting the name of the EA RequiosititiousnessControl.

No respect, some people... ;)

My Friday is just winding up - I'm off for the weekend.

Have a good 'un yourself

Regards
Andrew

Glad to hear the EA-RequirementControl still exists... I was worried it had folded, or burnt to the ground, or something.   :D

BTW, does anyone else think a EA Add In forum would be a good idea? Someplace where announcements could be made along the lines of "The World-eIT site will disappear for the next 3 weeks". Or "Try out Mentor for nifty UML explanations"

Michael,

Well, first there was an "or something" that had to be dealt with... just irrational jibberish (you can go with that as will).

Second, and more important, we felt that it was time to break away the tools group into a separate division and so, most of the effort has been to get that up and running before making the announcement and all.   We are planning the release of the first in the series VERY soon and will go into full beta on the second product in the series sometime in March.

Cheers,

Steve
