Why the red dot next to my controlled packages?
« on: March 29, 2005, 11:22:35 am »
I've had my packages under source control and just recently all of the packages are now showing a red dot next to them.  I've checked the Package Configuration and everything is OK.  I am sure someone in our group did something to cause this but I am not sure what they did and how to undo it.  Help..

This means that something is broken with package control.  I remember seeing it when the source control tool was not enabled.  Make sure your source control is working and the plug in is ok.

I think I also remember going in to the package control screens and remove control and putting it back on.

These are just some of the reasons why we went away from package control….

Good Luck

Ouch!

I went to all 200+ packages and de-selected and then re-selected version control and now all the red dots are gone.  I had to select each package individually, Open the Package Control Options, Set the Version Control dropdown to <none>, Save it, Re-open the Package Control Options, re-select the original version control mapping, and save it again.  My mouse finger is now sore.    I hope to never have to press Ctrl-Alt-P again!! :(
