Creating a baseline
« on: November 29, 2006, 08:35:12 am »
Hi,

In my EA Model, i've created a Class Model, which contains two packages, which in turn contain a class diagram, and then classes, etc.

I want to be able to create a baseline for the Class Model.  The user guide states that to do this, you right-click on the package at the head of the appropriate model branch, and then select "Manage Baselines".  When I right-click on the "Class Model" package, this option does not appear. I can't get this option to appear no matter what I item I click on in my Model, and so can't see how to bring up the Baselines dialog in order to create a baseline.

Any help appreciated. I'm evaluating the tool at the moment - but as far as I.m aware, the evaluation version contains all the functionality.

Jason.

When you start EA, what version do you select?(Desktop, Professional or Corporate)

The features available will depend on that selection and are summarized at http://www.sparxsystems.com/EAUserGuide/index.html?editiondifferences.htm.

Only the corporate edition of EA supports baselines (see http://www.sparxsystems.com/EAUserGuide/index.html?baselines.htm), so make sure that you've selected corporate when starting EA.
