Model Author doesn't change!

Hello everyone!

I'm trying to change my default author but EA does not do. I have modified property "Author" at menu "tools - options - general" to my name which was previously added at menu "Settings - People - Project Authors". And when I create a new element, the old author name continues there!

Can anyone help me ?

Works for me. You even can write any string there and it will be placed in Author. Which build are you using?

Project authors seem to be a 'phantom' role in EA. You can set them up in the Settings | People | Project Authors dialog, and thereafter select them in various drop-down lists.

If you change the author displayed on a single class, or on a diagram (via diagram properties or F5) you'll get the behavior you describe - the next class you create will be back to the old value.

What you need to do is change the value in the overall EA Options dialog. You can get to this via the main menu with Tools | Options dialog. Note that you need to have an opened project to change this, since the setting is actually project-specific (but seems to be inherited by new projects). If you change the value here it will be the default for new elements.

One more note. In all three drop-down lists (EA Options, Diagram Options, new element) the drop-downs will show the model authors from the Settings dialog. However, they all allow free text. Whatever you type in will be used.

It's actually saved for the current user of the computer, not into the model.  The option is only available when a model is opened because it fills the combo from the authors in the current model.

Hello everyone!

Thanks for all posts and I have forgotten to say an important detail. I'm using "Enable Security", and the old name author is the same name which is created in "Security Users". So, I changed the name and it works!
