Attribute (General Tab) - Shortcut Key
« on: June 08, 2008, 10:30:34 am »
Hi,

When creating multiple attributes for a class, it would be nice to bang in the names, and come back to the details later.

Is there a shortcut key to 'save this attribute and immediately create a new one'?  Hitting <Enter> will save but then leave you on this attribute.. you still need to hit the "New" Button.

I'm working from a 'whiteboard session' and I'm trying to be as efficient as I can...  :D

TIA
Gary

There is also an option to clear dialog selection after save.

Tools | Options | Source Code Engineering | After save, re-select edited item.

For an another fast way of doing this.

Open a diagram.
Select a class.
Press Ctrl+Shift+F9.
Enter a name.
Press Ctrl+Enter and go back to last step.

In fact it is:
Tools | Options | Source Code Engineering | Attribute/Operations | After save, re-select edited item.

I don't know why this option is under Sorce code engineering.

There is nothing in the help regarding this feature. At least on this page
http://www.sparxsystems.com.au/EAUserGuide/cgo_attributes.htm

Sorry, I missed one of the steps.  At least you knew what I was talking about.

PS. That's one of the options I'm hoping to move to a more logical place for the next version.

Sorry.  I previously said I was hoping to move it for the next build.  I have updated this to say what I was actually meaning.  It won't be changed for the next build.  But hopefully in the next version number increase.

For now, I have documented the option on the pages for creating attributes, creating operations and setting options on the Attributes/Operations page of the Options dialog. Changes visible at next build release.

If Simon is successful in moving the option, the relevant text will be on the page for wherever he moves it to.
Best Regards, Roy
