7.5 costs?
« on: February 12, 2009, 03:53:22 pm »

Does anyone know what the upgrade cost will be for 7.5?

If I have a corporate version and want to move up to the full Ultimate version of 7.5, what am I up for?

Will the upgrade decision be taken when my support times out?

In past Sparx' policy seems to be not to release prices until the product goes to production. This is in line with most of the industry.

I suggest you send a question to Sparx Sales via email regarding the feasibility and timing of upgrades between subscription renewal dates. If they have not addressed this question it might help to get in into their sights now.

Please post back and let us know what you learn. I am sure you are not alone (I for one am in the same boat).

Thelonius,
This is a quote from a beta release email i received

"Important Note: New and Renewed Enterprise Architect licenses provide 12 months access (from date of purchase) to upgrades such as Version 7.5 at no additional charge. This means you can renew your current license(s) or purchase new licenses of Enterprise Architect 7.1 today, confident that you will enjoy a free upgrade to Version 7.5 when it is released."

True Phil,

But what happens when you want to go to a different edition? For example, if you had the professional edition and wanted to move to the corporate edition, you would still have an upgrade cost.

I think the question was regarding the upgrade cost to move from the corporate edition to the ultimate edition. Since there are three new editions, all 'greater' than the corporate edition, we don't have any current benchmarks to estimate from.
