Business process runtime/execution
« on: July 20, 2009, 10:14:45 am »
Hi All,

My organisation is considering using Enterprise Architect.  A key requirement is that the business process models we design can be executed, and possibly via a web interface.  The purpose of this post to determine how possible this is.

To be more specific, once the business process model is complete I'd like the model to be integrated into underlying system/s and modules that implement and help carry out the functions (ie. where a system function support a process step/task.  This is for the mainly for the purpose of having a clear snapshot of the business in motion - eg 10 orders open, 15 complete for the day, "Bob" has made 4 orders and "Sam" 3, etc:  so I don't mean IDE integration - I mean integrated into production systems that help do the work.

For those familiar with SAP's Guided Procedures I loosely refer to what this offers, though it is a bad implementation of the concept.  I believe IBM have something similar.

Many thanks to those who respond.
