MDG / Create icon for diagramtypes
« on: September 17, 2009, 09:32:30 pm »
Hi!

Does anybody know if it is possible to define icons for new diagram types? I have no problems to set new icons to my other defined elements, but how do I set an image to a diagram so that it appears in the "new diagram" dialog as well as in the browser?

Setting the "Icon" attribute does not work, neither in the metaclass nor in the stereotype.

Cheers,

I don't think it's possible - but it sounds like a good idea!

Gets my vote!

And mine!

FWIW...

I first asked about this, as well as some other icon-related features, back in the EA 7.0 beta. There was no traction then.

However, at the time Sparx was dialing in massive changes in EA and there were many things with higher priority. Even so Sparx managed to implement a lot of change requests during that period. I know I was sending them in at a rate of more than a dozen a week; a significant fraction of those made it into production within a few builds of the beta period ending.

This might be the best time to make the request again. Perhaps things are quiet enough that the Sparxians can turn their attention this way again.
