Update Styles from Normal.rtf doesn't work

Hi,

I have modified the normal.rtf to our needs and it worked for most stuff quite good. I actually changed some List Overrides in the normal.rtf and updated it in all documents.

Now I changed the headings 1-7 from blue font color to black and exported it again to the normal.rtf. Now, if I Update Styles in my other templates, it doesn't work. The headings stay blue. The heading name is the same and basically all templates were built from the same template, even the normal.rtf template.
If I check in the normal.rtf, the headings are correctly in black but it just won't update!

Any help?

This is a bug I submitted to Sparx on 13th Oct 2009 related to 7.5 - they confirmed it as an issue and was supposed to be fixed "in the next build".  Not sure if it's fixed in 8.0.   The issue is that the "Update styles" function will not update existing styles - it does run and will add any new styles that have been defined, but won't overwrite/update existing styles.

Which version of EA are you using and can you submit a formal bug report ?

I'm using 7.5.850. But we won't use 8.0 Betas. I can submit a bug report, too. But does it make sense? For which build did you filed that report? If it's the same build, should I add another bug report?

Maybe I should, because I am in a really bad mood because I just had to change all of our company templates manually for 12 styles EACH template!!!  >:(

Yes I think you should submit a bug report.  I don't see this issue mentioned as fixed in the release notes for 8.

A change was implemented in the Enterprise Architect 8 beta to improve the update of styles from the Normal.rtf.  We recommend installing the latest EA 8.0 beta release from our website and try performing this update again to see if this resolves your issue.

I hope I will find some time to install and test the Beta in the next couple of days.

Well on the surface that sounds good if the fix works - the official release of 8.0 can't be that far away now.
