Rational Rhapsody to Enterprise Architect using XM
« on: April 09, 2010, 05:55:57 am »
Has anybody ever tried successfully to export a IBM Rational Rhapsody model using XMI and then import it into Enterprise Architect?

Has anybody successfully migrated a model from Rhapsody to Enterprise Architect maybe through other means?

I did - it worked both ways, I don't remember the details, but I think you still have to redo actual diagrams - visual part of them

When I attempted to do this - the diagrams didn't transfer visually as you confirmed. The process on the surface looked successful, but upon viewing the .log file for the transfer, a lot of elements were not transfers (errors) and did not appear in the model after all.

I am curious if there is something particular about my model that is causing it to fail - we are using a SysML profile to develop with, and its a considerable size.

Thanks for your response!

Hello,

The same situation after 8 years. Nobody from IBM or Sparx Systems seems to be interested at all.

Does this answer your requirement?

http://www.sparxsystems.com/enterprise_architect_user_guide/13.5/model_publishing/import_a_rhapsody_model.html

The topic had a couple of minor changes in 2016, but has been around for quite a number of years before that.
Best Regards, Roy
