Arrows
« on: February 16, 2012, 02:58:03 am »
In Sparx how do i draw a arrow with only one connection. For example i want to draw an arrow that is connected to nothing on one end and to an activity on the other end.

Sorry you can't since all connectors need a start and end element

However, if you have version 9.x then the Whiteboard toolbox, contains a selection of arrows, which are themselves elements, and hence can be added to a diagram without any connected elements.

Visually, this may work for you, but you cannot "bend" the arrow elements and of course there will be no internal connector between this arrow and your Activity.

If you really need a control flow connector coming into the Activity, then add the Activity, add the Whiteboard arrow of your choice. Create a Control Flow between them and then delete the control flow and when prompted select Hide the connector

Cheers

Phil

Another thought: in the "Interaction" toolbox, there is an element called "Endpoint" which exists for this very reason - to give you something to hang a dangling connector onto.
