instance  classes documentation
« on: March 29, 2012, 05:50:38 pm »
I have inserted instance classes into sequence diagram to document the program flow.
It seems instance classes have theyr how notes.
Is it possible to link such notes to the original class when there is nothing specific to document?

No, I don't think so.
You can add classes iso instances on your sequence diagram however.
It might be syntactically not quite correct, but it might help.

What you can do is the following:
- Place the class on the diagram
- add a linked note to it
- from the context menu of the note link: Link to Element Feature/Element Note
- remove the class

Now you have the original class notes which you can place near/over the instance.

From the original Class diagram with the class Edit | Copy the note.
In the Object diagram with the Instance (Object) Edit | Paste Element | as link

When pasting as a linked element the Note will update if the original is changed.

When pasting as a linked element with link to feature, the Note will update next time the diagram is refreshed if the original (Class note) is changed.
