How do I insert an ObjectNode between 2 actions?
« on: September 04, 2012, 07:59:35 pm »
I am trying to insert an ObjectNode (actually, a stereotyped version) between two Actions. however, I cannot insert the ObjectNode, it is treated as a pin, is there a way to switch between the graphical representations as shown in the UML standard page 432 of the UML standard (ver. 2.4)?

If you connect two Actions with an Object Flow, the behaviour of EA is to add matching action pins and the Object Flow connector between these Actions Pins. As far as I am aware, this behaviour cannot be changed.

However, if you add an Object Node from the toolbox to the diagram between your Action elements, then connect the first Action to the Object Node (use Quick Linker or Toolbox) using an Object Flow, no Action Pin will be created. Similarly, connect the Object Node to the second Action using another Object Flow connector.

This should achieve what you are after.

You should follow http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd409465.aspx for your query.
Hmm, you do realize that page is related to the UML editor of Visual Studio (Ultimate) and this forum is about Sparx Enterprise Architect?

The difference is about € 14000 :o
