SysML Association Blocks
« on: September 20, 2012, 05:37:05 pm »
Hi,

Can anybody please explain to me how to model SysML association blocks such as the Water Delivery association block in Figure 8.11 of OMG SysML v1.2

Thanks

Nick

Hi Nick

The closest I can get is

1) On a SysML 1.2 Block Definition Diagram add the two Blocks Spigot and Faucet
2) Change the toolbox to Class
3) From the Class Relationships section of the Toolbox, select the Association Class relationship
4) Starting at Spigot, drag this relationship to Faucet
5) Enter Water Delivery in the Class Properties dialog and type block into the stereotype field

Unfortunately the isEncapsulated stereotype from SysML 1.2 is not added even if the stereotype is synchronized from the SysML 1.2 toolbox. This may of course not be a problem

Cheers

Phil

In a SysML bdd-diagram, right-click on a Block and choose Advanced | Association Class... In the dialog that pops up you can select which association in the diagram the Block will be linked to.

nice one, thanks to you both.  I shall now persevere with trying to model my interfaces in a SysML 1.3 fashion
