We use Enterprise Architect as a central repository for all of our applications (each application is a root node) Is there a way to configure EA so that Project Management items such as Tasks etc are associated with a specific root node?

Example:
I have Application A open, when I display tasks, I only want to see the tasks for application A

AFAIK no. You have to move each root in a separate repository. You might import other roots as r/o via VC or using EA locking.
