MDG Eclipse Link vs. MDG Eclipse Integration
« on: July 27, 2013, 01:12:41 am »
Since I am using Eclipse a lot I would find it most desirable to integrate it with EA. There are apparently two add-ons or extensions  available: "MDG Eclipse Link" and "MDG Eclipse Integration".

I was trying to find out the difference between the two but their list of features as well as (admittedly only quickly) browsing their respective manuals they seem practically identical to me. So, I am confused which route to go or prefer.

Could someone please explain:
  • Is one an older version of the other?
  • Different features or levels of integration?
  • Does one replace (or include) the other?
  • If not: can they co-exist?

  • Link is a part of Integration.
  • Integration includes EA diagrams and a project browser inside Eclipse.
  • Link ties a package in EA to a project in Eclipse.

OK - so Integration supersedes/includes Link. Should have guessed that simply from its size, I presume... Thanks!

PS.: I have another question re. Integration, but I realized that there is a more appropriate forum for Integration-related questions: http://www.sparxsystems.com/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.cgi?num=1375193357
