Relationship Matrix for BPMN
« on: November 15, 2013, 11:06:19 am »
Hi All,

I am trying to use the relationship matrix function in EA to build a matrix of a BPMN model with Lanes on the Horizontal axis and Activities on the Vertical axis. The intent is to use it as a possible baseline to define a RACI model.

I can build the matrix successfully, but my problem is I am unable to get the grids to represent the relationship from the activities to there respective lanes.

The only thing I can think of is there is no specific link type for this style of relationship even though the activity element lives within the lane element within the project browser.

Can anyone give me a prompt where I might be going wrong?

Regards,

Stoppy  :)

^^this.

EA uses the connector table to generate the relationship matrix. When one element "owns" another element (by nesting in the project browser), it doesn't create an entry in the connector table.

Okay, Thanks for the repsonse KP.

EA speeds the job up to build and populate a table.

Won't take me to long to add some ticks or crosses into Excel.
