Security Classification Marking on Diagrams
« on: March 30, 2015, 08:56:23 pm »
In some circumstances it would be minimally advisable to add a classification display item to a diagram - Not Classified, (U) Unclassified, ...

I thought about using and modifying the "Show Diagram Details" block that can be added to diagrams, but it appears to not be modifiable.  And the security features in SPARX are all associated with access control.

So the question: has anyone faced this need, and how did they solve it?

One way is to add a Watermark which will display when the diagram is published to HTML/RTF, saved as an image, printed, or copied to the clipboard

To add a Watermark:

1) Select Tools | Options from main menu
2) Select Diagram | Appearance
3) Complete the section Watermark

Another option is to

1) Create two "dummy" diagrams (Custom type is OK) one each for your security level
2) Add a Text artefact to each diagram and set the text to your
classification working
3) Copy and Paste (as Deep Copy) one of the dummy diagrams
4) Change the type of the newly created diagram to the type of diagram you wish to use (use Diagram | Advanced | Change Type...)

Please note second option will not work for Sequence Diagrams since you cannot change the type of a diagram to Sequence

Hope this helps
