Missing Tools Menu
« on: July 22, 2015, 09:26:41 pm »
Help! I've somehow managed to delete the Tools menu option from the menu bar, and it appears the only way to configure the menus is by the Tools|Customize option - which I obviously can't get to now.

How do I get my Tools menu back?

(I'm using EA12 on a Mac via Crossover)
It appears to have happened due to a sticky mac command key (which I assume maps to the windows key) which seems to allow me to move or remove menus but not to add them back!

If nothing else helps: re-install EA. I guess the wise guys from down-under have a more sophisticated answer but they may sleep currently  :)

Re-installing doesn't reset menus.

You'll have to explicitly go into the registry editor and delete to overridden menu.

It's one of the keys under:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Sparx Systems\EA400\EA\EA1200Workspace

Unfortunately, I'm not sure which. If it was me I would just delete that entire key and move my windows back how I like them.

Thanks Simon!

That worked perfectly!

Perhaps though, there ought to be a menu option to reset the workspace to default which can't be hidden, as should this have been a corporate PC I'd not have had access to the registry.

Thanks again!
