Paper Sizes
« on: October 23, 2015, 03:19:29 am »
Hi all,

It seems Sparx EA has a limited choice of paper sizes available. Is there a way to create a custom size? I need to print on 11" x 17" paper. This is also known as ANSI C (also Ledger or Tabloid), and is similar to A3.

However, I don't see a way to specify this size in the Diagram Properties dialogs.
Is there a way to do this? If not, I would greatly appreciate more options of paper size, including a custom for whatever definition one wants.

Wikipedia ref here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paper_size

Thanks!

You just need the right printer driver. Once you have one installed that supports bigger formats you're done. Unfortunately programs like FreePDF support only up to A4.

Add a printer driver (as qwerty suggests) for example an HP Plotter.

Then you have a huge range of potential page sizes.

I use the driver for HP DesignJet T790ps 44 inch PS3.

Thanks for the replies everyone. The issue I am having is that my printers don't have 11x17 as a pre-populated option - I have to define a custom size, insert the paper and it works.

So, any ideas what I would do in this situation? At this point, I am making an image of my diagram and checking it in MS Paint just to see the dimensions.

The printer driver doesn't have to be for your existing printer.

Install a printer driver that contains the page size you want.

When you print the diagram, select your REAL printer, page size remains the same.
