How do you show non-navigable associations in EA?
« on: November 04, 2015, 08:12:57 pm »
I am trying to represent non-navigable association using the standard "X" notation at the end of an association that is non-navigable (see page 213 of the UML standard v2.5). However, when I set the end to non-navigable, no "X" is drawn. Does EA support this notation at all?

This question also applies to owned associations (represented by the dot at the end of an association).

EA does support the X notation, but I think it only shows in certain conditions.

I just found it. In the diagram properties, you have to enable the "Show non-navigable ends" in the Connectors tab. That got the X to display, but regarding the "dot", I'm still not sure how to get it to display.

Follow-up: the dot also shows up using the same strategy. I was trying to do this on InformationFlows. There I cannot get it to show.

Information flows are no Associations. I think the notation only exists for Association.
