5.0 RTF templates
« on: May 31, 2005, 01:48:51 pm »
Would like to see the following in upcoming releases of RTF templates:

- Apply multiple styles to notes such as {Pkg.notes}, not just a single style that applies to all text in the Package notes field.

- Apply different styles to each instance of a {Pkg.Note}. For example, would like to format notes for some packages as a bullet list, and notes for other packages as a number list.

- Create numbered heading style: for example  Heading1 = 1.0, Heading2  =1.1, Heading3, = 1.1.1, etc

- Create numbered figure and table captions. This is supported in the legacy output, but the numbering is lost in the nmew templates.

- The RTF template supports a smaller set of formatting options than supported in Word. It would be nice if you could keep expanding support to match Word, although this is a very big task.

Sorry if the 5.0 release currently does all these things,  but I could not find a way.

I second this list.

Especially bullet 2.

If we could somehow attach a template to a package, then use that template to generate the documenation for the package that would be great.

In this way, if I place requirements in one package, GUI layouts in another and class diagrams in a third I can format them differently.

Hi, I haven't heard or seen anything from Sparx indicating that they plan to implement any of the  requirements in the first post. Are there any plans to improve on the current RTF templating in future releases?
