Check your database language. You may have to assign it for the new table. You can also set the default database language, and I think you can set the language for a particular model.

To set the default, from the main menu choose Settings / Database Datatypes. In the dialog you can choose the product from the dropdown, add a new product if you so require, and set the default with the appropriate checkbox.
