Insert Related Elements... improvements
« on: November 09, 2006, 08:19:50 pm »
I recently bemoaned the fact one can't assign a shortcut keys to the Insert Related Elements function.  We'd still like to be able to do that as we use that a lot in constructing expository diagrams.  The key/mouse clicks mount up!  :)

Since one can't multiply select a number of elements and run Insert Related Elements on the collections (another feature we'd like...)  It becomes a major annoyance if the settings for the actual function aren't sticky!  The key/mount clicks start sounding like a Geiger counter near some radioactive source...   ;D

While I'm at it, could we also include stereotypes in the selection criteria?  Both for the link and for the element.  Now that we truly have multiple stereotypes everywhere, this will become more important.

What would be really neat is to be able to save these settings as named sets so we could retrieve them via a dropdown...  For example:  Single Level Generalizations, Two Level Descendants, 4 Level Ancestor Trace.

This is a very useful and important function!  Can we please get some of these enhancements in a future build?

Thoughts?  Votes?

Add my votes for the set.
No, you can't have it!
