BUG: XMI Batch Import needs to report date matches
« on: December 03, 2006, 06:09:04 pm »
We have 10 EA licences, but we don't currently have 10 EA developers.

One machine is dedicated to running large Batch Import/Exports.

Due to the Import bugs we have reported: BUG: Importing of packages from XMI files broken and XMI Round Trip - Data Loss?  Your help needed!, we have been advised by Sparx to import the set of Controlled packages twice.  This workaround is currently only just satisfactory (as our model grows substantially every week).

On Friday afternoon, the import process suddenly stopped working after two weeks of satisfactory processing.  The second import would not do anything - the dialog would apparently disappear into la-la land...

It took us two hours to find that the [  ] Check file data before import check box had been checked (which it must NOT be if the import workaround is to succeed).

The point is, that the import dialog does NOT notify the user that during the import, "N packages were not processed due to last import date matches".  If it had done, we would have spotted the problem within seconds...

Instrument, Instrument, Instrument! TM

Please rectify this...
