get latest / all latest

Request for help/info:
Sometimes, if I do "get all latest", the are packages that contain older information and the only way is, to do a get latest on that specific package. (But that's only if I notice that it's older.)

Is there a save way to do this (without too much work) and rely on an up-to-date situation?
