Web Interface and\or Model API
« on: December 03, 2009, 02:16:28 am »
We'd love to be able to expose our models dynamically (I.E., without having to export as web pages) through our web portal (which happens to be SharePoint-based). Either having that directly or having a better data surfacing interface (as opposed to going straight to the db tables or using the ea.exe as a COM object) would be nice. A REST service would be ideal, maybe complimented with a simple diagram rendering capability.

This is also a requirement in my environment where we are migrating to sharepoint. Supported.

Likewise...

SharePoint integration would seem to be a VERY useful functionality.

In particular, with our "Programme Modelling" methodology, we're looking at being able to describe the SharePoint flows in EA and providing supporting localised diagrams to graphically guide users through the process.

Have you made a formal Feature Request using the links at the bottom?

Official feature request submitted (text below):

Please add capabilities to support live rendering of EA models (as opposed to just supporting 'export to HTML'). Preferrably this would be in the form of web services (REST would be our preference) that include some kind of diagram rendering capability as well so that we could develop and brand the UI ourselves. EA Lite is nice, but it just isn't feasible to download , install, and configure EA Lite for the entire audience of the models we are building. The EA automation interface just isn't suited for this. Maybe an EA server product to compliment the EA client?
