9.0 Customise menus
« on: May 12, 2011, 06:23:39 am »
I asked support

I can't find "Get Style" or "Paste Appearance"
when scrolling thru "All Commands" on the customise toolbars menu

The Commands tab in the customize dialog only lists commands which are available in the Main Menu (under the File, Edit, View, etc).  The two options you mentioned are not available via the Main Menu, they can only be accessed via toolbars.  You can add these "toolbar only" icons to your custom toolbar by doing the following...
  • Open the "Tools | Customize" dialog.
  • Select the "Toolbars" tab, and ensure the "Diagram", "Format Tool", and your custom toolbar are enabled/visible.
  • While the Customize dialog is open you can copy Icons by holding CTRL and dragging the Icon from one toolbar to another.
I could not find this method of moving/copying toolbar icons mentioned in EA's help.  I will request that it be updated.

It seems to me that all commands should be shown in the customise dialogue, not just those in the main menu.

Yes indeed...  Otherwise it should be named "All Commands on Main Menus"!   That's how natural language (as a specification medium) works.

I've been frustrated trying to provide keystroke shortcuts to commands that aren't on the main menu set.

Go for it - Skiwi!

I wonder if there is a way to expose commands added in add-ins
to Customize option, to be able to assigne shortcut keys.
