Linked document icon in Project Browser
« on: October 25, 2012, 07:06:28 pm »
Hi,

I want to send an official feature request but firstly I would like to collect your opinion.

In one of my projects I have been using a lot of Linked Documents. The problem is that it is hard to investigate whether an object has or has not a Linked Document attached. You have to right-click an element to see if Linked Document has been attached.

And here is a solution - feature request. I would like each object which has the Linked Document attached to have a small icon on it. For example the same icon which is visualized when you put an object with Linked Document on a diagram.

And some pictures to visualize:

TO BE:

Thanks in advance for your thoughts on a topic.

Regards,
Daniel

Certainly - disproportionately large usability improvement.
How about allowing custom-icons whilst you're doing it!

btw: Any idea what the 'A' does stand for? 'A'aargh?  ;)
IOW: why not use a doc icon in both cases?

Totally agree with custom icons. I'm not a designer so didn't want to draw so it doesn't look ridiculously :)

Anyone knows if there is an official feature request list where I could check if this one is registered?

Daniel

Yes, I know, and to anticipate your next question, no there isn't one.

But you could submit a feature request and ask for one, you wouldn't be the first.

Dear Sparx,

Any chance this request is ever addressed? It looks like I'm not the only one thinking this is an important feature. Please at least tell us whether you're ever planning to address it or not.
