Open EA with last Diagram & selected element
« on: March 27, 2014, 01:16:51 am »
Hello,

it would be great if EA starts with the last opened diagram and the last selected element.

I made me an addin and it helps to have things like this.

Also easy to use bookmarks to diagrams, packages or elements would be great.

A history would also don't do harm (e.g. Geerts Navigator).

There is a feature that remembers the open diagrams when closed, but it's probably one of the better hidden features.

Open the Personal Tasks window and click on the Working Sets tab.

If you're in a model that you've used before there should be an item in that list called 'Windows open when Model was last closed'. Right click on that and find 'Apply when model opens'.

Simon,

I believe you have to tell EA first to remember the windows when closing. By default that option is turned off.

In an earlier version we would dock the working sets window somewhere and save that location in the workspace layout. Since v10 you can only get it by selecting View|Personal Tasks and then opening the tab working sets.

Too bad, because it is a nice feature, but it is just too hard to find.

Thanks for the advise with Working Sets. They are very powerful. I put it to Notes/Tagged Value Notes as a tab.

Then I am one/two clicks away from my major
  • Diagrams
  • Searches
  • Matrix Profile

It's like favorites.

One drawdrop: A workset can only have on Search and one Matrix Profile. More would be nice.

Drag of an diagram into an workset would be nice!
