Example project step by step required
« on: July 17, 2014, 01:46:35 pm »
Hi,dear all:
I'm new to EA and have lack about UML.
After I installed EA, there is an EAExample.eap project to show many examples. That is very good.
But this is a finished project and I want to know how this project is created step by step, do you have any document/vedio or sth. else about this?

In the Help file, read the chapter called "Getting Started".

For videos/tutorials, look here, especially the Getting Started videos.

I can't upload a pic
In the example
Get Started-->Using the Example Model
This a summary diagram of the whole project. In this diagram there are many packages of several groups and each group wrap with a gray border. When double click any package the revelant sub diagram will show. How to achive this?
I can add a package to the summary diagram and EA will add a new diagram in it's child folder other than sibling folder(just like EAExample).
If I build sub diagrams first , and then I want to build the summary diagram, how to achive, I don't know how to link package to an exists diagram

You can drop an existing package from the Project Browser window onto your open diagram.  In the current version of EA, this should show a context menu.  Select "Package Element" from this context menu.

Double-clicking the package on your diagram will open it's contained diagram (if it has one).

There was a "Getting Started with Enterprise Architect" webinar video recorded last year which would also be recommend for you to watch:
