alignment of text displayed as the Element's label
« on: February 10, 2009, 02:26:47 am »
The ability to align the displayed text associated with an element's Name attribute would be helpful. For instance many times when I am dropping a Boundary onto a diagram I would like to have it displayed to the left.

A "text alignment "feature is described for the text associated with an embedded element...

Side Note: Icon's for alignment of elements in the Element/Alignment seems to indicate text, rather than objects...

Thanks again,
David

The menu icons should actually be the same as the Toolbar icons - you can refresh the menu using the Tools | Customize option, then select the Menus tab and click on the Refresh button.

For your main request, please submit a formal feature request using the Support | Feature Request option at the very bottom of this screen.
Best Regards, Roy

Just a note, that in 7.5, the button is labeled “Reset” instead of “Refresh”.

It did exactly as you said. Just as a process question, when would I know that I should "reset" the menus? Is it a good idea anytime a new build or version is loaded?

Thanks for a GREAT product, I sing it's praises every day, and it is really helping me to show the benefits of requirements engineering (like that subject should have to be a hard sell!) :)

Reset - that is my mistake. I must get these glasses checked!

If you don't customize the toolbars, commands and such, you could probably reset the toolbars and commands whenever you dowload another build or release. Although you currently cannot customize menus, you could still reset them, just as a precaution against something not automatically being updated in the build (such as the Align icons).

If you do customize the interface, the reset would put everything back to the build defaults. Therefore, don't reset. Your customizations would make whatever keys and toolbars you have changed differ from the standard set anyway.

We're glad you like EA. Keep singing. When might we expect you to appear on American Idol?

But see this cautionary note. You've touched on this above, but it is worth making the point clear.
No, you can't have it!
