Find in project browser - direction
« on: February 25, 2010, 08:40:06 am »

I would find a directionality flag useful, eg up, down, all, especially when I have gone past something and want to go back.
Also the ability to stop the search continuing past the scope of the package selected when the search dialogue was opened.

I'd vote for this (if there was a Poll)  ;)

Also, a BETTER indication of "NOT FOUND" would be very useful...

I filed a bug with the v8. Would be a good idea to add the above while working on it...

Also an option to skip searching in current model, view, or package would be time saving.

The current implementation is always searching for a substring. Only the wild card inside a string is not possible.

Not in EA 12 RC1. This is a thing that would be small, but significant and valuable

Skiwi,

I don't like this feature and I haven't used it in ages.
I did however develop an alternative in the EA Navigator.
My quicksearch function supports wildcards and shows the results as you are typing (slowly)

I was a EA navigator user, but our environment is now so locked down it is nigh impossible to get the rights and permissions to run add-ons that are installed as executables.

Find in project browser - dockable
« Reply #11 on: March 24, 2015, 12:30:36 pm »
And another suggestion:

I like the way the "Find in Project Browser" stays on top.

I'd also like to be able to dock it as a toolbar.

But then hope is a fragile thing.

skiwi,

I'm working on something that might be a solution to this kind of problem. I'm writing an add-in manager that will allow you to "install" any add-in for Enterprise architect by simply dropping the dll's in a folder or web-location of your choice.

That would mean you only have to go through the approval process once to install an add-in once.
After that "installing" or "upgrading" an add-in can be done without admin privileges.

Would that be of any interest to you?
