Template Package doesn't work for BPMN business process
« on: July 15, 2016, 04:11:44 pm »
We wanted to set a default notes template on a BPMN business process so I naturally suggested to use the project template package.

But this doesn't seem to work for BPMN business processes. No matter what I put in the notes of the element in the project template package, my notes on a new BPMN business process are always empty.
It works for any other element I have tested, but apparently not for BPMN things.

Grr.. now I have to build a workaround for something that should be standard behavior.

I got a reply from Support with a workaround:

This is a known issue which is yet to be resolved.  The reference number for this issue is 11089882.

Our developers advised that this issue relates to the Composite Element setting.  As a workaround, if you disable the Composite option for the Business Process in your template package (right click and select "New Child Diagram | Composite" to clear the option), then the template settings should apply correctly.

I can confirm that his workaround works perfectly fine.
