Eclipse MDG: Encountered an improper argument ?!
« on: September 21, 2010, 04:46:59 am »
I was trying to reverse merge some code I had originally started in EA and then continued in Eclipse using the Eclipse MDG "Merge with Eclipse"  command (using Reverse).

Things at first seemed to go well (one see's a list of misc. "Reverse synchronizing <classname>" messages only to be suddenly greeted with an alert popup that reads "Encountered an improper argument". No details or any further explanation are given...

How can I find out, what's going wrong here? And how can I fix this?

Never mind! I deleted all classes from EA and then re-merged and now everything went fine.

Would still be nice to be given a more verbose explanation, though (and maybe a hint in that dialog on the possible cause).

Thus, if I would now delete all classes from EA again and re-merge I would be loosing some of my work.

What is causing this???

Hi there,

The error is coming from the EA side. A fix for it has been approved, and will appear in a future build of Enterprise Architect. Please keep your eye on the release notes of future builds for details, or feel free to email support with the issue number 10014554 and we'll advise you when it is available.
Best Regards,

Michael
