Version Control perform a lot of SVN commits
« on: November 01, 2010, 09:42:13 am »
hi,
I'm using Enterprise Architec 8 with SlikSVN as command line svn client. Whenever I save my model under version control it performs a lot of individual commits... is there a way to save all project files in one commit, instead of one each ? to avoid receiving many distracting notifications.

thanks, regards

I'm afraid that was copied from cvs behaviour. EA simply commits each package with disregard to transactions and consistency.
While in CVS it does not matter because it isn't transactional in SVN this can easily lead to unconsistent repository despite atomic commits.

You can ask Sparx to add a feature to have atomic commits for all checked-in packages.

You could resort to doing them manually (simply control packages instead of version controlling) but I think it defeats the purpose. You will also loose ability to be notified that someone else works on that feature.
