Diagram Legend visible in Project Browser on V 1419
« on: May 09, 2018, 02:15:50 am »
Now, when creating a Diagram Legend, it is visible in the Project browser but without name.

VKN thanks for the shortcut. But If I look at other objects in project browser it has properties-> find in all diagrams. Consistency is another point

I noticed this too when upgrading to V14 B1422 so raised a bug report and got this reply

This was deliberately introduced into v14.0 build 1400.
From the readme.txt:
"Diagram Legends now appear in the Project Browser"

Not sure about the logic but the legend is a diagram object of type text and other diagram object such as Text does not show in browser neither does boundary nor Note. I've asked about the logic behind showing the the legend in the project browser and awaiting a response.

The users in my organisation don't like it as it clutters the project browser view.
Anyone else thinks the logic in showing the diagram legend in the project browser is flawed?
Happy to help
:)

I find it useful, albeit inconsistent with other pseudo-elements that aren't shown

However it does appear to be not fully implemented given that the legend shows without a name.  If it is going to be in the browser then the elemant name should default from the legend name, and / or get the usual Legend1 style name

Don't take this as an official response, but my guess would be to make it easier to use on multiple diagrams.

Interestingly, it is actually possible to use Borders and Notes on other diagrams (Copy, Paste as link).
So for consistency these ought to be in the project browser as well.
