Visualize integration dependencies?
« on: October 23, 2019, 02:39:30 am »
Hi!

I have a question on how to best visualize impact on broken chain of integrations between applications/platforms.

What I need to do is to set up a chart over several of our applications and platforms, with key flows of information and integrations. And what I would like to chieve is to be able to visualize in that chart what happens if a certain integration breaks down at a certain place. What other applications and functions will be directly affected by this, "later on in the chain". To have these highlighted, or couloured or whatever really. Not by having them removed, but to have the chart "interactionable" if this is possible?

Perhaps by selecting some status of of an integration, obsolete etc, this effect can be achieved somehow?

Reason for this is to help Service Desk to quickly, when an integration for whatever reason goes down, be able to assess the situation and what consequenses they can expect throughout the application landscape without having to in detail study what is quite a complex map/setup and easily miss out on things.

Best regards

You can visualize the impact in multiple ways using Sparx Prolaborate. It lets you build many kinds of charts, visualizations, and reports based on EA data (Properties, tagged values, relationships, etc.)

Check out the visualization capabilities here:

Impact visualization can be seen here:

If interested, you can take a trial to check if it matches your requirements.

Have you looked into model simulations? I cannot remember if it edition dependent but with certain diagrams you can run a simulation.
