Prolaborate Share Links: persistent?
« on: November 18, 2019, 07:07:09 pm »
Hi,

I can create public urls via the Share this Link action from an open repository (open community access enabled) in Prolaborate.
Such links/urls will be copied to a document that cannot be modified e.g. http://models.intranet:81/A1b2t
Hence I need to know if such links are persistent e.g.
- are they created on the fly and stored in Prolaborate DB (where?)? Is there any risk that they no longer work after an update or an other event?
- or are they computed in a way that everytime you create a link from a given diagram or element, it will always be the same?

Thanks,
Guillaume

Hi Guillaume,

Yes, the shareable public URLs are persistent. They will never change!

The URLs are bound to the GUID (This relationship is stored in Prolaborate database) and so, they will not change even if you migrate the models with GUIDs intact.
