Hello,

I try to generate Ports with some Information out of an Excel or Word sheet. But all Elements of the Import failed.
The Preview of the Import is exactly showing what I want.

If I only change the Element Type from Port to Signal it is working.

Also I checked that all information I want to generate is even possible to show at a port. (so no alias because it is not shown in the port window)

Do you have an Idea what I make wrong here?

Best regards
Bernhard

It may be worth trying to import in 2 steps, first the parent objects (classifiers) then the ports (from a separate excel sheet, as a separate import operation).
Also, try importing the ports by clicking on the Excel sheet "Enterprise Architect" menu, not on the EA menu.
I had the same issue being unable to import any attribute, and doing BOTH solved the issue for me.

Thanks a lot, with the Class as Parent Object it works.
Even when I use the Import in EA.

Hello,

Some other question by creating Ports via MDG Integration for MS Office. (this is why I change the Subject name)

What should I do if I want to create a Connector between 2 Ports via the MDG?

Between class Objects I am able to create connector.
But it looks like that between Ports which are connected to Class (Blocks) the MDG donĀ“t finde the destination/source of the Connector.

Seems like ports (like attributes) are "properties" and not "classifiers" in the MDG, and like you cannot create associations between attributes, maybe you cannot create associations between ports (in UML properties cannot have associations).  This MDG is a bit of a hack job anyway but you get what you pay for.
